A wall that reacts to people walking by with a graffiti tag. Graffiti artists provide different styles of tags that are chosen by the system concerning to the persons speed, height, etc. One tag is written over the other, and vanishes after some time. It reacts to peoples movements without their intention, but can also be “abused” by people playing with it for fun.

this idea is based on thermo-bi-metal, which changes it’s form when exposed to heat, like in this lamp:
so why not use this as umbrellas that extend like flowers in the sun. This could either work directly through the heat of the sun, or indirectly through solar panels that put a current to the metal sheets.
we saw the cable supportet street lights that were all connected to a pole in the middle … why not light up this pole? And also the cables … they are already “conected” to power!
not light, but sound … played by the sea! check it out:

the space around people sitting on the steps illuminates. The color indicates how long they have been sitting there. The light remains for a while after someone left, like a footprint. Idealy this would be powered by the peoples body heat. The whole system would visualize the traffic at a spot like this.
We investigated the different sources of light in the area, finding a system of cable-suspended streetlamps, different styles of old fashioned lamps on poles and some modern lighting solutions.
We also looked at places and objects that could be integrated with lighting.
